University of South Carolina offensive center Clayton Stadnik(Western Guilford) was selected as the Southeastern Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, it was announced on Monday.

Stadnik, a 6-3, 281-pound redshirt freshman from Greensboro, N.C., made his second-straight start last Saturday in South Carolina’s 35-25 win over Vanderbilt. Playing for the injured Cody Waldrop, Stadnik graded out at 82 percent, playing all 87 snaps at center. The Gamecock offensive line did not give up a quarterback sack or quarterback hurry while rolling up 31 first downs and 579 yards of offense, both the second-highest marks in the Steve Spurrier Era.

  1. If I remember correctly everyone was saying that this kid was just riding his brothers coat tail to SC and would be a blocking dummy for 4 years. Looks like he’s proving everyone wrong! Congrats to Clayton and the Stadnik family!

  2. I have Clayton on my Cover of Sports Carolina monthly this month that comes out Friday…That is a huge accomplishment for Clayton. these two boys are going to make it. they have the drive!!!
