Southwest Guilford High School announces the resignation of Head Football Coach Chuck Doak

Southwest Guilford High School announces the resignation of Head Football Coach Chuck Doak.

Coach Doak has been a tremendous leader as both an assistant and Head Coach for 10 seasons at SWGHS.

Coach Doak came to SW Guilford in 2011 as our Defensive Coordinator from NW Guilford.

In 2018, Coach Doak left to take the head coaching job at CATA in Union County. After one season, Coach Doak returned to The Ranch to take over the head coaching position from former Head Coach Eric Rainey.

Coach Doak has been our Head Football Coach for the last 3 years and has also led our program during one of the most difficult and challenging times as we dealt with the Covid-19 pandemic.

As Head Football Coach, he has an overall record of 15-14 at SWGHS. Coach Doak will remain on our football staff as an assistant coach for the Cowboys.

We appreciate his leadership, dedication and tremendous care for our student-athletes.

At this time, Coach Derek Anderson will be named Interim Head Coach for the Cowboys until a replacement is named. Coach Anderson is the former Head Coach/Athletic Director at TW Andrews HS. He has been on our football and track staff in various roles since 2017.
