Eastern Guilford High School announces new football coach:Doug Robertson(Formerly with Reidsville Rams)

Eastern Guilford High School, announces Monday, January 21, 2013 that the new head football coach of the Wildcats will be Mr. Doug Robertson.

Coach Robertson returns to the Triad area after one year at Person High School and after many years at Reidsville High School as an assistant and head coach. Coach Robertson comes to Eastern Guilford with many years of experience as both an assistant and head coach where he has experienced much success. Eastern Guilford hopes to see Coach Robertson build a program that will consist of a culture of successful tradition within the coming years.

Education

* 1995 Graduate Reidsville High School
* 1999 Graduate Guilford College (BS in Physical Education)
* 2000 Graduate Delta State University (M.ED in Health, Physical Education and Recreation)

Teaching and Coaching

* 1999-2000 Graduate Assistant Coach for Delta State University. Coached Defensive tackles. Won the Division II National Championship in 2000.
* 2001-2008 Defensive Coordinator at Reidsville High School. Won 4 state championships in 2002,2003,2007,2008
* 2009-2012 Head Coach at Reidsville High School. Won state championship in 2009. Record 36-7 in 3 seasons.
* Fall 2012- Head Coach at Person High School. Record 3-8 in 1st season after taking over a 1-10 program.

Personal

Coach Robertson is 36 years old and has been married to Erin Harrell Robertson for 12 years. The Robertson’s have two children- daughter Taylor is 10 and son Tate who is 6 and the family resides in Reidsville, NC.

  1. Sounds like could be a good fit for Eastern…Guess we will have to wait and see and maybe someone else is on the board, but not yet on the clock at NEG….
