Elon Football Remains in Top 15

ELON, N.C. – Two days after dropping its first game of the year against FCS competition, the Elon University football team remained in the top 15 of both national polls on Monday, Nov. 13. The Phoenix came in at No. 11 in the STATS FCS Poll and at No. 15 in the FCS Coaches Poll. Elon will conclude the regular season and try to lock up a playoff berth against No. 1 James Madison on Saturday, Nov. 18 at noon at Rhodes Stadium.

Elon (8-2) earned a total of 2,197 points in the STATS rankings and sits between Stony Brook (8-2) and Weber State (8-2).

Including Elon, the STATS poll ranks four CAA Football teams this week. James Madison (10-0) continues to hold the top spot. Other league programs in the rankings are No. 10 Stony Brook and No. 16 New Hampshire (7-3).

In the coaches poll, the Phoenix was awarded a total of 269 points. Just ahead of Elon is New Hampshire, while the Phoenix sits just ahead of South Dakota (7-3).

The coaches poll also sees four conference programs ranked. JMU continues to sit first. Stony Brook moved to No. 12 and UNH is No. 14.
