Lukes Finishes Fifth; Elon Men’s Golf Places Sixth at The Battle at Stono Ferry

HOLLYWOOD, S.C. – Quade Lukes earned his second top-five finish in just his fifth collegiate tournament and the Elon University men’s golf team placed sixth at The Battle at Stono Ferry on Saturday, Nov. 4, at the Links at Stono Ferry.

FINAL RESULTS

Elon as a team (293-282-288–862) finished in sixth place, just missing a chance to earn its fifth straight top-five finish of the season. Lukes finished four under-par during the final round to move up three spots to place fifth individually, earning his second top-five finish of the season. He earned a third-place finish at the Patriot Intercollegiate earlier this season for his first top-five finish.

HIGHLIGHTS
Lukes made six birdies and just two bogeys during the final round on Saturday, including four birdies in the last seven holes. The freshman went four-under par on the back nine to finish out a strong final round.

Charlie May earned a top-25 finish placing in a tie for William Harwood finished one under-par in his final round to move up 11 spots to finish in a tie for 41st individually.

Both Patrick Frodigh and Philip Loeb finished tied for 47th individually. Loeb competed as an individual for the Phoenix. Rounding out the Elon competitiors, Jake Leavitt tied for 55th and Robert Seebold placed 67th overall competing as an individual.
