GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College football team dropped their home opener to Brevard College Saturday, 63-7.

The Tornados held a 49-0 early in the third quarter and was threatening to add on to their advantage but senior Josh Cross recorded an interception in the end zone to give the Pride the ball on their own 20-yard line.

Greensboro got the ball on the Brevard 38-yard line and used seven plays to find the end zone.

Markez Brown rushed for 23 yards on the first three plays of the drive before diving into the end zone from 10 yards out for the Pride’s lone score before David Chappelear connected on the extra point.

“We just got beat in all phases of the game,” Head Coach Greg Crum said. “We are still a very young team but we are learning every day.

“We will head into the bye week and prepare for Maryville in two weeks.”

Brown finished with 36 yards rushing and Chastin Robinson threw for 72 yards. Jarel Brown and Jeremiah Speed had a team-high six tackles each.
