HiToms Win Opening Night!

The HiToms started off their home opener on a tremendous day for baseball. The sun was out, the fans and players ready for another season, and the HiToms came out swinging.

After the Bulldogs got 3 runs in the first off of 2 hits and a walk, Jordan Howard took a baseball about 30 feet over the right field fence for a solo shot.

In the 3rd inning Evan Edwards showed his power and on the 11th pitch of his at bat, he hit an almost identical shot as Howard to bring Kole McKinnon and Howard to give the HiToms a 4-3 lead.

Ryne Stanley added to the hit parade with a giant shot to deep center field to bring in Mason McLellan for the HiToms 5th run of the game.

In the 6th, Mason McLellan drove in Randy Norris to widen the gap to 4, and then a past ball brought in Howard. E.P. Reese continued the HiTom rally with a 2-RBI single making it 10-4.

Jordan Howard continued his ginormous debut with the HiToms, as he hit another home run in the 7th. He went 4-4 on the day

Ryan Kahny went a strong 4 innings with 6 total strikeouts. After giving up 3 runs in the first, the right hander closed the door for the next 3 innings giving up no more hits.

Jake Wyrick came in for relief and threw 2 innings of no hit baseball. Young and Southerland shut the door for the HiToms to secure the 16-3 victory.
