RICHMOND, Va. – Junior Bryanna Hames of the Elon University women’s track and field team was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Co-Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season as announced by the league office on Tuesday, March 28.
Hames shared CAA weekly honors for the second straight week after the Charlotte, N.C., native had a strong showing at the prestigious Raleigh Relays last weekend. Hames was the runner-up in the discus throw after a toss of 170′ 3″ (51.91m) in the event. She then nearly tied her career-best and school-record mark in the shot put with her throw of 47′ 5.25″ (14.46m). She finished ninth overall in the highly competitive field.
Hames shared the award this week with Leia Mistowski of William & Mary. The maroon and gold returns to competition on Friday, March 31, at the VertKlasse Meeting at High Point University.
