Elon Women’s Golf in Middle of Pack at River Landing Classic

WALLACE, N.C. – With a pair of Elon University women’s golfers in the top 15, the Phoenix golf squad wrapped up the first two rounds of the 2017 River Landing Classic in seventh place out of 11 teams.

Rounds 1-2

The maroon and gold fired a 292 during Thursday’s first round before wrapping up the day with a 307, giving Elon a two-round score of 599.

The Highlights
Pacing the Phoenix on day one was Heather Munro who ended the first two rounds in a tie for 11th out of 74 players with a score of 147 (72-75). Munro carded five birdies over her two rounds, including three during her first 18 holes of the day.

Aurelia Hamm is just one stroke back after rounds of 73 and 75. Hamm’s first round saw her notch 17 pars. She would post four birdies during round two’s action.

With a score of 151 (74-77), Kelsey Badmaev will begin the final round of play in a tie for 28th. She had three birdies on the day.

In a tie for 38th is Hilda Kristjansdottir who shot a 73 in a first round that saw her record an eagle and four birdies. She followed that up with an 80 to stand at 153 on the day.

Rounding out the five team members was Anali Otazo Rodas who is 68th with a mark of 167 (86-81).

Competing as an individual, Katherine Reilly stands 72nd with a two-round mark of 172 (88-84).
