College Womens’ Swimming Results – Guilford Falls Twice at Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Guilford College’s women’s swimming team dropped two Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) decisions Saturday in a double-dual meet with host Bridgewater College and Greensboro College.

Bridgewater (3-0, 3-0 ODAC) claimed a 155-42 victory over Guilford. Greensboro (3-3, 2-3 ODAC) avenged a loss to Guilford (1-3, 1-3 ODAC) earlier this season by the score of 66-62.

Rookie Carolyn O’Halloran had a big meet for Guilford, winning both the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle races. She captured the 50 free in 30.12 seconds, the fourth-fastest time in Guilford history. Her winning 100 time of 1:07.10 stands fifth all-time at Guilford. O’Halloran also swam on Guilford’s 200 medley relay that placed second in 2:28.22.

Isabel Gutierrez also swam on the relay and delivered two top-three showings. She came home second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:29.08 and was third in the 100 free (1:10.03).
