Northwest Guilford High School names new head softball coach

Heather Johnson has been named the new head varsity softball coach at Northwest Guilford High School. She replaces Rick Shoemaker, who will remain on the NWHS softball coaching staff as assistant coach. Heather comes to Northwest Guilford High School from the Midwest, and has had previous coaching stints in both high school and college softball along with leading high level softball fast pitch travel programs. Most recently, she was the head softball coach and taught classes at Grace College, an NAIA college in Indiana. Before that, she was a head softball coach at Northwest High School in Canal Fulton, Ohio and also was the head coach at Montreat College in North Carolina in the late 1990’s.

Heather is currently on the teaching faculty at Northwest Guilford High School and will be meeting the prospective players and beginning fall workouts very soon.
