GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Elon University women’s golf team had a solid showing in the first two rounds of the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate today, Sept. 26, at Greenville Country Club. Kelsey Badmaev and Heather Munro are in the top 10 individually and the Phoenix is tied for fifth as a team at 36-over par (314-298–612).
Host East Carolina holds an 11-shot lead at 19-over par (298-297–595) and Colonial Athletic Association opponent Towson is tied for 11th (318-305–623).
HIGHLIGHTS
Badmaev is tied for sixth after posting rounds of 75 and 72. The senior’s even-par second round mark helped her improve 10 spots on the leaderboard.
Munro holed a total of five birdies over her first 36 holes and carded back-to-back rounds of 74. Munro sits six shots off the lead at 4-over par, good for a tie for 10th place.
Elon’s biggest jump of the day was made by Aurelia Hamm, who shot a 3-over par 75 in the second round after opening with an 82. The sophomore improved 23 positions and is tied for 51st at 13-over par (82-75–157).
Anali Otazo Rodas, competing in her first event as a Phoenix, posted rounds of 83 and 77 and is tied for 66th at 16-over par (83-77–160).
Hilda Kristjansdottir is tied for 91st through 36 holes after shooting 85 and 84 on day one.

The Phoenix plays the final round of the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Greenville Country Club. The shotgun start is set for 8:30 a.m.
