The Kernersville Bulldogs and Fayetteville Swampdogs of the Coastal Plains baseball league tied 5-5 in a non-league game called due to weather and field conditions.
Kernersville jumped out to a 5-1 lead but allowed Fayetteville to rally. The Swampdogs scored the tying run in the bottom of the eighth inning to erase a 5-4 lead.
Kernersville starter Zach Greene pitched five strong innings allowing only two runs on four hits while striking out four.
Kernersville was led by Michael Garvey of Guilford Tech/Northwest Guilford HS who went 2-for-4 with double, run scored, and RBI while Blake Deatherage(Western Alamance HS/UNCW) was 2-for-5 with a double and RBI.
Kernersville concludes CVCL regular season play tomorrow with a doubleheader against Rise Up baseball of Morganton, NC. First pitch for game one is at 3:00 at Glenn High School.
