Josh Tobias(Southeast Guilford HS) turns in a four-hit night in his second game with Clearwater Threshers

*****And oh by the way, Josh Tobias didn’t slow down much, in his third game(Friday) with Clearwater, he went 2-4 with a Double and 1 RBI…*****

Josh Tobias(Southeast Guilford High School) turned in a four-hit night in his second game for Clearwater, but the Threshers found themselves in the hole early on the way to a 13-5 loss to the Daytona Tortugas at Jackie Robinson Ballpark on Thursday.

Tobias doubled twice, scored twice, and finished 4-for-4 with a walk, while playing four innings at second base and four in left field. The 23-year-old joined Clearwater from the Lakewood Blue Claws on Wednesday after batting .304 with 24 doubles and seven homers in 93 games in Low-A.(www.mlb.com)

+++++The overall analysis on Josh Tobias accent up the Minor League ladder goes, Scott Kingery, the Philadelphia Phillies #1 pick from the 2015 draft plays the same position Josh plays(2b) and Kingery and Josh both came to the Phillies the same year(2015) and with Kingery being a #1 pick, Kingery got called up to the Reading Fightin Phils(Double A Philadelphia Phillies) this week and therefore Josh got his chance to move up to High A ball, going from the Lakewood BlueClaws to the Clearwater Threshers….Kingery and Tobias both at the same position and both from the same draft year, 2015 and Kingery was the #1 pick….Kingery is going to get top preference from the Phillies and this year he is hitting the ball well, so he is the man that the Phils want to keep moving to the top…

The big consolation to all of this is the fact that Josh Tobias may be behind Kingery in the Phillies pecking order and it may seem like Kingery is the annoited king, but with Josh Tobias now spending more time playing in left field and with Josh having going for him the one thing the Phillies can’t ignore, his bat, Josh could break in at Philadelphia one day in left field and you could see Josh Tobias and Scott Kingery in the Phillies lineup on the same given day….And if Josh takes off with this outfield thing that gives more options to play other outfield spots too and if Kingery can move over and play some at shortstop, then you have so many options, you will not be able to keep up with them all and there will be no way to keep Josh Tobias out of that Philadelphia Phillies lineup…

As you can see, there are a lot of ways to slice an onion….*****
