GREENSBORO, N.C. – Kirstin Norris has been named a Statistical National Champion for the 2016 women’s lacrosse season in Points per Game, the association announced Monday.

Norris, a Bushwood, Md. native, finished her senior season averaging 7.06 points per game.

The midfielder led the Pride, and the USA South Athletic Conference, with 113 points (78 goals and 35 assists). Norris also finished tied for third in the nation in total points, sixth in goals, and ranked fourth in goals scored. Kirstin also set the USA South career goals mark with 257, ranking 3rd on the NCAA Division III career leaderboard.

When notified about the achievement, Norris was ecstatic saying, “Being named the NCAA Division III Statistical Champion for Points per Game is such an honor! We had a tough year, but this honor would not have been possible without my teammates and I owe my success to them.

“I want to thank everyone that got me to this point in my career, and this award is something I will cherish for life.”

During her four-year career at Greensboro College, Kirstin set career records for points (330), points per game (5.07), goals (257), shots attempted (490), shots per game (7.53), shots on goal (379), draw controls (258), and caused turnovers (117).

Following the season, Norris participated in Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III North/South Senior All-Star Game. The game was played on June 4 at Cabrini College, and Norris dished one assist for the South, in a 13-9 loss to the North All-Stars.
