Guilford County Coach of the Year for Summer Baseball at this stage/time/point of their seasons

Wonder if anyone has any thoughts on these prime candidates for Guilford County Summer Baseball Coach of the Year, at this stage/point/time of the season…..

Are we talking Bill Ahrens with the Piedmont Pirates in the Greensboro NABA? His team is at (7-2) and currently in first place in the NABA standings…The Pirates beat the Reds last week and that has not been any easy task for any team over the past 4-5 seasons…Bill Ahrens has his team, which is made up mostly of former Western Guilford High School players, like Adam Foster, Keith Anderson, Brandon Ahrens, Nin Marrero, Nino Marrero and more and the team is looking good at just about the mid-way point of the Greensboro NABA season…At (7-2), how about you, do you go with Bill Ahrens???

And what about Kevin Randle with the Greensboro Grasshoppers??? Randle’s club at one point back in May stood at (12-24) and since then they have gone (30-9) and last check they were up on Delmarva, 5-0 at Delmarva tonight/Monday and if they go ahead and win that game, it would make the Hoppers (42-33) and you are talking some kind of turn-around for this Greensboro Grasshoppers team…Is Kevin Randle the man that should assume the title of, Guilford County Summer Baseball Coach of the Year,(at this stage/point/time of the season?????)

And we know we are talking amateur ball versus professional ball as we hit the two corners here, but hey, it is all relevant if you take a look at your every day baseball, across the county…

One more name that we feel needs to be on this list for consideration for the Guilford County Coach of the Year for Summer Baseball at this stage/time/point of the season is Dale Moser, with the Post 53 Greensboro Red Wings…Dale Moser has this group well above .500 and he has built his young team into a winning product in just their first year together…Dale Moser has done a heck of a job with a team that was supposed to be playing at War Memorial Stadium, then on to Dudley, then Eastern Guilford and the Red Wings finally ended up calling Caldwell Academy their home and it really doesn’t matter where they have been playing, they have been winning and that is a tribute to Dale Moser and his coaching staff and credit goes to his club as they take the field every night, ready to win one for the old Burtner American Legion baseball name…

The name is Bill Ahrens, Kevin Randle or Dale Moser and they are your Guilford County Summer Baseball Coach of the Year, at this stage/point/time of the season candidates.

How do you see this one taking shape???

  1. All three look good to me, but if I had to choose one I would take Kevin Randel.

Randel has worked wonders in bringing that team back from where they were back early in the season.

My pick then would be Kevin Randel with Ahrens and Moser tied for second…

  2. I think I am going to go with Bill Ahrens since his team won again last night. They are playing well. Go Pirates!

  3. I can’t believe nobody is voting for Dale Moser.

    I will.

He has done an outstanding job with a first year team in a very tough level of baseball.

My vote is for Dale Moser and Dale Moser only.

Dale Moser with the Greensboro Red Wings.
