High Point/Thomasville, N.C. – Saturday night it came down to the wire at Finch Field but that was not the case on Sunday evening. The High Point-Thomasville HiToms powered their way to a 23-1 victory over the Deep River Muddogs to conclude exhibition play.

Deep River scored first with towering solo home run by Christian Snider that landed off of a tree in right field in the top of the second.

The HiToms wouldn’t trail for long, answering with five runs of their own in the bottom of the second highlighted by a Callahan Moltzan 2 RBI triple. Moltzan reached base every time he went to the plate.

In the bottom of three, designated hitter Coll Stanley blasted a two run homer over the right field fence to push the HiToms lead to 7-1.

The runs would keep coming for the HiToms including a 7 run sixth inning that featured three Muddog pitching changes in the inning. Five more runs bottom of the seventh inning sealed Deep River’s fate as the HiToms won 23-1 in a shortened eight-inning contest.

Brad Jarreau punched in a pair of 2 RBI singles and Myles Kutscher drove in two runs.

Robert Donnelly surrendered the only run for the HiToms with Logan Welch, Daniel McCrary, Ryan Owens and Jacob Norman combined for six scoreless innings.
