  1. Way to go NW being ranked 12th! They will live up to the hype in the fans eyes. everyone outside of them knows they don’t play any real teams until Conference and that’s not saying much. The only two good teams they play are HP and EF and HPC is really down this year. Sw could surprise a couple teams as well. NW has the weakest Non-Conference schedule in the State. Wonder what the excuse will be if the Nighthawks beat the Vikings for the 8th time in a row this year?

  2. Whatever Nighthawk don’t cry about how you don’t have Roscoe and you’re down on talent when we beat yall this year. Everyone knows The real test for NW will be East Forsyth. That Christian Beal kid is the real deal and maybe the best RB in the area. I for one really look forward to the match up between our coaches and their Coaches. East has a former NW coach and I think it was really personal last year and it showed after the game. Can’t wait to see how it goes this year with all the talent we have too. I think the Vikings can beat the Eagles this year with Hennigan, Turner, and cloud leading the way. I just don’t think the Eagles have the players on defense like last year to match up with the Viking WRs. The big test will be can NW handle EF size up front. GO VIKINGS!

PS-Northern fans I don’t see you guys ranked? Bad recruiting class this year? LOL!!!

  3. NW is average and small up front as always and doesn’t deserve to be anywhere near 12th in the 4A.

  4. Been a Nighthawk fan forever. Truth is this will be a rebuilding year for the Nighthawks. 26 seniors gone, all past coaches gone except Davis. Westberg will do great things with the team but it will take time. Last 6 years = 4 state championship titles and 2 times to state semi finals dance. Can’t beat a solid record like that. Do not however discount the NW Vikings. Great leadership under Rolfes and some major talent.
Nighthawks, this is your year to lean in and learn.

  5. Keep an eye on Myles White (Dudley), he transferred from Smith and doing big things for the Panthers. Dont sleep on Mr. Playmaker

  6. Hey Nighthawk Nation keep thinking that! This team is loaded and we’ll show you this year. I just hope Rolfes kicks onside when we’re up by 40. Maybe a fake punt here and there too. As for East Forsyth we have something for them this year too. It won’t be a 40 point win but I could see Rolfes and the Vikings winning by 7 to 14 points. I just hope if they do get up on East they run in up on them this year!

  7. I’m hearing former Grimsley Head Coach Pat Neal is the new defensive coordinator for NW Guilford. 3rd DC in 3 years for Rolfes at NW. Doesn’t sound like a very loyal Head Coach. Wonder if Coach Neal will make it more than a year? Also hearing that NW is moving Hennigan to QB and they’re putting in a new offense. What’s the word on that one NW fans? Or is that top secret?

  8. Coach Pat Neal is now at NWG as the Defensive Coordinator…

Should be an upgrade, he is a very good and seasoned coach and he will have some athletes at NWG that he has not had or worked with before and that is usually a good thing…

Good for NWG and should make for a good season for all that are getting ready for 2016….Coach Rolfes has that NWG offense moving and he has the athletes on that side of the ball to make it work…

Right now Northern Guilford is an unknown commodity with the new coach and many new skilled athletes in new positions…

When you have to start over with a brand new coach, a new QB and a new #1 RB, that is a workload….

We will see how both NWG and NG are looking in the 7 on 7’s and right now there is no doubt, that NWG has the weapons on offense….With Hennigan, Turner, Fennie, Cloud and company, that is a load of offense right there…

Curious to see where Ford Moser will line up at this year for Northern Guilford….If at WR, who will be charged with getting him the ball….Will have to be at DB too…Going to need all the skilled athletes on the field at NG at the same time to be successful this season…

Lots of other teams around here too, so feel free to talk about them as well….

  9. What Andy? Ever heard of Brelin Faison-Walden? Guess players that will play in Power 5 conferences are not good enough athletes to win with but NW has the players Grimsley doesn’t have. The problem at Grimsley was never the players we’ve had talent all over the field it’s coach Neal and other HC’s had no clue what they were doing with them. It was so bad most people had no clue we had an SEC player on our team last year. Everyone will find out quick that it wasn’t the lack of players once coach Darryl Brown has the Whirlies competing for Conference Championships in the next couple years.

  10. I continue to support our local coaches both past, present and future…

Brelin Faison-Walden is a good kid, but he has to do it on the field….Excellent #’s in the combines and camps, but must have game results and does not have those on his resume yet…Coach Brown is one hard working son of a gun and his grandfather worked in the same mode..

I really do hope Coach Brown can get it turned around and that Brelin Faison-Walden has an excellent season…

I was talking to a high school football coach today and told me that Thomas Hennigan from Northwest Guilford might just be your best player in Guilfofd County high school football this season/this year…

I have been involved with high school football in Guilford County since ’72 so I am going to take a little bit of the ownership of this territory since I paid my dues and I can say a thing or two and I don’t have to look back brother….

  11. Fasion-Walden is a beast. If he played for a Page, Dudley, Northern, East Forsyth or even a NW Guilford over the past 3 years he would be an even bigger recruit than he is now. Why because their coaches would have know how to use and develop him. We’ll find out how good Coach Neal is this year because this maybe the most talented team NW Guilford has ever had on Paper. If they go 6-5 or 7-4 again with their weak schedule a few people maybe on the hot seat. Tell me again why a 4AA team like NW only schedules 2A and 3A teams in Non Conference? I understand playing Northern and Western because of the rivalry and huge gates those games bring in but how about getting a Page, Dudley, or someone who matches your schools size.
