Elon Women’s Golf Phoenix in Fifth after Day One of Kiawah Island Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The Elon University women’s golf team finds itself in the top-five of a 41-team field after day one of the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate at Osprey Point Golf Club.

The Phoenix finished the first round shooting 297 (+9) and is tied with Troy for fifth overall. Chattanooga is in first place at five under par after day one.

Highlights
Aurelia Hamm, Marah Penn, Emily Brooks and Heather Munro are all leading the Phoenix with a 2-over 74 after the first round. Penn is competing as an individual for Elon and all four players are in a tie for 25th individually.

Sunna Vidisdottir is one stroke behind after finishing with a three-over (75) round on the first day at Kiawah Island. Kelsey Badmaev finished with a +5 (77) first round at Osprey Golf Club.
