ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women’s tennis team fell to No. 73 East Tennessee State 6-1 on Sunday, Feb. 28, at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
Eria Braschi earned Elon’s (2-8) lone point in the match with a win at No. 2 singles. East Tennessee State (9-0) clinched the match at No. 1 singles as Lyn Yee Choo earned a 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 victory.
Highlights
ETSU clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory on court one. Braschi and Taylor Casey were leading 5-3 and 40-15 with three match points on the racket before the match was called.
Choo clinched the victory for East Tennessee State with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles against Olivia Lucas. Braschi earned Elon’s lone point in the match with a 6-2, 4-6, 4-2 win after Regina Nychytailova retired in the third set.
