Game Report on Southwest Guilford at Alexander Central Boys Basketball:Cowboys playing like CowMen tonight(C’boys hold Cougars to “4” second half points)

Southwest Guilford 65, Alexander Central 22

The Cowboys of Southwest Guilford took a long bus trip our to Taylorsville NC to square off against the Cougars of Alexander Central High School.

The Cougars are the North Piedmont Conference Regular Season Champions while winning 21 games overall.

Both teams face off with their eyes on making it to the “Sweet Sixteen” of the State Playoffs.

The Cougars scored on their opening two possessions to lead 4–0. Two minutes later The Cowboys were up 11–4. The blitz was on from there. Southwest was up 23–9 at the end of the first and 47-18 at the half.

In the second half of the mercy rule came into play after just three possessions by the Cowboys as they held the Cougars to just four points total in the second half.

Southwest cruises with a 65–22 victory to advance to the third round of the State playoffs.

Alexander Central was led by Bryant Wicker with 5 points. Southwest was led by Kobe Langley with 17, as well as Keyshaun Langley and Orlando Smith with 14 apiece.
