Never thought I’d see the dadburn day/night:Hard to keep up with your college teams these days/nights

I was trying to find the N.C. State Wolfpack on the radio(AM) last Saturday night and could not locate the Pack on their usual Triad location, 600 WSJS…..Just figured there was some sort of technical error, but low and behold, I tried to tune again today, but no luck again at 600 WSJS…

I tuned up and down the dial a few times along the AM side and no N.C. State to found…Then I made the switch to FM band and pretty knew they would on WRAL FM 105.1 and with that being a Raleigh/Triad outlet, I had the notion to look further into the FM Wolfpack possibilities for here in the Triad…

N.C. State had been on 96.3 back in the 90’s and Duke is on that Spanish-speaking station now…The North Carolina Tar Heels have found a home on 94.5 RUSH Radio and Wake Forest has been singing a country/bluegrass tune on 98.1 WBRF for a few years now…

State was on 98.3 back in the day and you could barely pick that station up here in Greensboro no matter the time of day or night and before that State was on WKEW 1400 AM and WGBG 1400 AM for many, many years…N.C. State had left 98.3 and migrated to 600/1200 WSJS and the Pack had been at that spot on the dial for quite a few seasons/years…

Would not be such a big deal, but for many fans this is their only way to follow their team and many of them like me, have been backing and following the Pack since back in the 70’s and that is for a time frame of five decades….

Change has hit us again and it always does and it would not be so bad but the team leaders never inform us when the changes happen….No promotion, no advanced word for the Triad Pack fans….Maybe they did let somebody know, but they not inform the right people…You have to get the word out…Promote, promote, promote and the powers that be at these FM radio stations just don’t do it….

105.7 FM, the new home for the N.C. State Wolfpack has no impact at all here in the Triad….Good luck to them in trying to be a force with coverage of college football…The FM stations are going in the hole in many markets and I would dare to say, that 105.7 falls into that prior stated category…

Prior stated, N.C. State is now on 105.7 FM and I couldn’t begin to tell you their call letters…Their city of license is Clemons, N.C. The FM stations are now stealing the sports programming from the AM stations and the AM stations were already a dying breed and this will speed up their demise…The stations had already gotten away from going local and now many AM’s are trying to go back that way, but it is too late…

There have been too many changes among the media and again the primary problem is nobody for the most part is ever aware of the radio stations are doing until after the fact…The IHeart outlet, 94.5 has sports at night during the evenings on Monday-Friday and they do no promotion of it whatsoever except for on their own station and that does no good because you already have those listeners and you need to reach the ones that don’t know…

It is almost like having a religious station and preaching to choir only and not having any outreach to those that have not heard the word and may never know what you are speaking/talking about…

We/I shouldn’t have to go searching for my team on the radio…I am supposed to be part of some sort of sports outlet myself and if you don’t let people like us know, then you have missed the boat, the bus, the train and the plane….

You got to let the people know and the sports people should be the first folks on your list…

The Carolina Panthers will be on the radio on Sunday and for many fans, they don’t know where to go to find their team…

Go to ROCK 92 FM and you may not of heard it here first, but we find it very important to let the sports fans know and to lift our local teams and our local outlets…

Most all sports broadcasts used to be on the AM dial, but like sands through the hour glass/sand dial, these are the new “Days of our Sports Lives”……..AM on the way out, FM coming on and the NET looking to take the lead and leave FM scratching their heads…..

To be able to write and relay so much on this topic, I must have an idea of what’s going on, as we go onward into the “Sports Future”…More people need to come here, this is where the Sports info flows….

*****Now time to go onward and upward to the second half of the Greensboro College football game with a check in on a few of the radio games along the way and our interview with the head coach of the Guilford College Quakers will be up here on Sunday afternoon…Big win by the Quakers in Fayetteville, on Saturday afternoon….*****

+++++In the end, all I’m saying is “let us know something”, unless you feel that we the fans and team supporters don’t matter and we don’t mean anything in the grand scheme of the sports/games.+++++

#####And in a related matter and we could go on all day and night, where are the N.C. A&T Aggies at on the radio this year…Went by WNNA 90.1 and no longer there…Heard Donald Ware had taken over for Spencer Gwynn and Ward is now doing the games, but “Where are the Aggies?”…………#####

&&&&&We could go on for a while longer, but maybe time to stop and let the rest of the “Sports World” catch up….&&&&&
