  1. Some pretty good teams participating, with Varsity (new gym) and JV (old gym) games.

Friday – NWG, GDS, W Forsyth (varsity only), RJR, Asheboro, Pinecrest

Sat – NWG, GDS, Broughton, Trinity, W Mecklenburg, Asheboro

schedule of games can be found at http://www.vikinghoops.com

  2. Probably part of their basketball fund-raising…Good way to booster up the program and you will also have to have money to pay the referees and with all of those games, those fees will not be cheap…Not too many volunteer refs left these days and for those that are out there, you would not get the same quality that you would with licensed referees…

Funds needed and donations would not fit the bill….At least that is my fifteen cents worth…

Good idea from NWG, and all those that attend are going love that indoor setting with air conditioning and that is another cause, you have to pay for the power bill too, and I don’t see the county donating the space or AC…

    Just a few ideas….

  3. Does anyone know of a local girls high school event similar to this in the area in the next couple of weeks?

  4. Wonder what ever happened to the Guilford County Schools’ Summer Leagues….There used be one for boys and girls….(Basketball)

  5. A lot of the old basketball leagues still exist but a smaller schedule. School ended last on the 15th and this year on the 17th which makes it difficult to schedule scrimmages with the AAU season kicking back up on July 1st. If school were to get out as originally planned around June 5th, then you would have seen the normal 2-3 weeks of scrimmages.
