HPU MLAX’s Robinson Earns SoCon Weekly Honor

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Freshman Connor Robinson of the High Point University men’s lacrosse team was named Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.

The New Westminster, British Columbia, native registered a career high four goals in the 10-9 victory over Air Force on March 21 in Vert Stadium. Robinson scored three goals in a five-minute span to take HPU’s lead from 6-5 to 9-6 early in the fourth quarter.

Fellow Canadians, junior Dan Lomas and freshman Tyler Vogrig, joined Robinson in the goal-scoring column. The trio combined for six of HPU’s 10 goals against the Falcons.

Robinson is the fourth Panther to win a SoCon’s weekly honor this year joining sophomore Michael LeClair (Offensive, Feb. 10), redshirt-junior Brad James (Offensive, March 3) and senior Pat Farrell (Defensive, Feb. 24).

Robinson is fourth on the Panthers with 13 goals. Meanwhile, he also has racked up two assists and eight ground balls while appearing in all nine games in 2015.

The Purple & White will be back at home on Saturday, March 28 when they host Furman at noon in Vert Stadium.
