Livingstone will get a load and they will get a Langley on Wednesday:KJ Langley(Southwest Guilford HS) to Livingstone College(CIAA Champs)

Point guard KJ Langley(Southwest Guilford High School) and his family announce his decision to attend Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC and they will confirm this basketball committment on Wednesday/tomorrow, in Salisbury….(4pm)

His parents will attend this ceremony along with other friends and associates, but no future coaches will be in attendance.

KJ has averaged roughly 10ppg 3rpg 5apg over his 3 years so far, with the Southwest Guilford Cowboys…. He is a 4 year varsity player, 3 year starter and 2 time unanimous Piedmont Triad All Conference selection and 3 time team captain at Southwest Guilford. He has been a big part of Southwest Guilford being put on the map in basketball in our area and the state of NC. KJ is one of that fastest guards with the ball and is extremely efficient running a structured offense. He does not turn the ball over very often and knows how to run a team.

KJ is expected to lead the SWG team this year and contribute immediately at the college level. The coaching staff at Livingstone has expressed their excitement during their recruiting of KJ, stating that they feel they are able to address an immediate need by bringing in a seasoned guard with a high basketball IQ. KJ has the ability to defend and shoot the ball and will need those types of skills to compete in the CIAA.

KJ is a strong student with a 3.8 GPA in high school and really seems to fit into the direction that the defending CIAA champions are heading.

  1. Correction: future coaches will not attend the ceremony (against NCAA rules) and the signing will take place 4:00 pm @ SWHS today. We are so proud of KJ and his decision to attend LC. We would like to thank all of KJ’s past and present teachers and coaches for their help in his development on and off the court. We would also like to thank the community for their support of all student-athletes. Go Cowboys!

  2. Yes, I was a little caught off guard when I first saw the part that coaches were going to be there, had never seen them there before….But it was in the release and THANKS for the correction and good luck to the guard, K.J. Langley..

Wish we could have see K.J. vs. J.J.(Watson) this season…
