High School Football Player of the Week

GreensboroSports.com with the “Jim Modlin High School Player of the Week”, presented by Chick-fil-A and let’s get rolling with this week’s candidates…..

Previous winnners:Kevin Gehsmann(Western Guilford), Jamiel Mack(High Point Central), Reggie Gallaspy(Southern Guilford), Keenan Stevens(Western Guilford), Josh Homol(Northwest Guilford)/Devote Cross(Southwest Guilford)……Here are the numbers and some of the key names coming in for this week and if you have other names and numbers send them our way and we will have Dennis White and his editorial review board look them over….Previous winners numbers not listed on this post, since they have won earlier, but we will start posting them again here in the post-season….All numbers available each week, on our Saturday Morning Rewind…

From this past Friday Night:

Another big night for C.J. Freeman(Northern Guilford)….Freeman was on the run for 200 yards and one touchdown..QB Cam Harris(NG) connected on a total of three touchdown passes on Friday night….

Darius Graves(Dudley) with two touchdowns as Graves goes in from two yards out and he returns a punt 73 yards for a TD…Graves on the ground ran for 101 yards on the night…

Jarius Morehead(Eastern Guilford)….Morehead was all over the field for the Wildcats Friday night, punting, kicking and playing defensive back and receiver in addition to quarterback. He was just 6-for-14 passing the ball, but found success on the ground. By the end of the night, Morehead racked up 158 rushing yards on 11 carries with three touchdowns.

Three-touchdown night for Thomas Hennigan(Northwest Guilford)…Hennigan ran for two scores and caught a pass from fellow-sophomore Jake Smith for another score…Smith gave a very good account of himself as well and he stepped in for senior starter Josh Homol….Power running from sophomore Kyle Finie(NWG) with 105 yards….

QB Ryan Craven(Southeast Guilford HS) with three TD’s for the Falcons in their 28-14 win over Southwest….61 yards on the ground for the quarterback Craven….

Tevin Quick(Ragsdale Tigers) completed 6 of 7 passes for 102 yards and a TD and he added two scoring runs for the Tigers.

Chavis Little(High Point Central) having a big night too, running for 152 yards and ran for one score…

  1. It’s hard to be pick, since everybody only gets to see one game per week, but Thomas Hennigan has been a big play receiver all year for NW. As only a soph, he is going to be a big-time prospect over the next couple of years.
