Congratulations to Coach Popek and the Ragsdale Cross Country Program for yesterday’s performance. Please see hyperlink from Brian Hall and WFMY Sports.

*****CLICK ON link above and check out the sea of runners at Hagan-Stone on Tuesday…That Nolan Cook kid from Page can flat out tear up a track or a X-Country course and the young lady from Ragsdale, Sarah Sara Platek, can fly too….Both were the winning runners yesterday and I think Blair Ramsey(Grimsley HS) finished second for the girls….I was watching this video on WFMY TV 2 Sports last night and they have some real good footage from Brian Hall…

+++++Back in the day I ran against some very good high school runners in John Erickson(Southeast Guilford) and Mike Wirth(Northeast Guilford) and this Nolan Cook kid from Page is pretty big and very strong for a distance runner…The kid is no skin and bones and he has good upper body strength and that is a plus for a last-minute, up-hill surge like you need on that last kick by the playground at Hagan-Stone….Have run Hagan-Stone hundreds of times in the daylight and in the dark and they have some neat ups and downs on that course and it is scenic with the old schoolhouse and then back you go on along the top of the lake, as you head toward the finish…You can always get a little extra jolt of energy when you see a snake out there along the X-Country course and more power to the runners who made it all the way to the end on Tuesday and that old barn makes for a good starting line…

Run on and keep the lookout for Nolan Cook and Sarah Sara Platek and for Blair Ramsey too…
