GREENSBORO, NC — Greensboro College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Randy Tuggle announced the addition of four more individuals to the 2014 Pride women’s basketball recruiting class.
Eden Crowell / Charleston, SC / Northwood Academy / 5’9″ Shooting Guard
High School: Played three seasons of basketball at Northwood Academy, while leading the team in three point shots made and shooting percentage from long distance….Was also a member of the Northwood Academy volleyball team
Coach Tuggle On Eden: “We got lucky to have Eden playing for us this coming year. Eden is a tough kid, and she also gets us another shooter in our 2014 class.”
Shamara Richardson / Knightdale, NC / East Wake High School /5’6″ Point Guard
High School: Started for the East Wake High School women’s basketball team and received the coaches award in her senior season.
Coach Tuggle On Shamara: “Shamara is a combo guard that sees the floor very well. She will allow us to put even more pressure on teams this year. She does a great job getting to the hole and seeing teammates when they cut off. We are lucky to get a player of her caliber.”
Aleeya Steward / Knightdale, NC / Knightdale High School / 5’8″ Post
High School: Was a four year varsity letter winner in women’s basketball at Knightdale High School….was named teams defensive player of the year.
Coach Tuggle On Aleeya: “Aleeya brings to the court what every coach wants, and that is all out. She does all the little things that a team needs to be successful. We are lucky to have a player like Aleeya to join our team.
Kerstin Winston / Mechanicsville, VA / Lee-Davis High School / 5’5” Shooting Guard
High School: Was named honorable mention all-district team, while being named to the all-tournament team in the teams tip-off classic…..was also a district and conference All-Academic team member
Coach Tuggle on Kerstin: “Kerstin is going to be a big help in one of the areas we were needing, and this is shooting. She has unlimited range, but she also does other things that makes her a complete player. We are expecting being things from her.”
Greensboro College will be looking to improve on their 20-6 overall record from one year ago that including a 16-3 mark in conference play that placed them as the #2 North Division seed in the USA South Tournament.
