Danielle Fuss is having her best tournament of the spring,” said head coach Vici Pate Flesher. “She is playing with a lot of confidence and I am very proud of her performance today. Casey Ward is doing exactly what I expected. I knew she would be in the middle of things as she continues her consistent play. We hit a lot of greens today, which was part of our strategy, and put ourselves in position to get birdies. Unfortunately we didn’t convert as many as we would have liked. Tomorrow is the last day of the year, I think that is motivation enough for them to leave it all on the course.”

Fuss moved in to a four-way tie four eighth place with a 76 on Monday. She has a 36-hole score of 150 which is tied with Presbyterian College’s Libby Crawford, Coastal Carolina’s Bailey Cocca and Winthrop’s Jennifer Dilger. Fuss’ 150 is just one stroke over her 36-hole best of 149 from the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic.

Ward shaved five strokes off her opening round score to card a 73 on Monday. She is in 12th place with a two-day score of 151 (78-73). Junior Grier Bennett dropped to 17th with an 82 on Monday. She has a 154 (72-82) heading in to the final round. Freshman Sarah Bae improved her opening round by three strokes to post a 76 on Monday. She is in 21st place with a 155 (79-76). Third place is High Point’s best ever finish in the Big South Tournament back in 2005. The Panthers finished behind Coastal Carolina and Birmingham-Southern with a 931 (301-299-331) that year.
