GC Men’s Golf Places 9th of 32 at Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate

The Greensboro College men’s golf team finished in ninth place among 32 teams at the three-day Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate. The Pride concluded the tournament with a team score of 880 (299-273-308).

After shooting a -7 under-par, 273 on Saturday, Greensboro earned a spot in the Gold Championship round on Sunday. All 32 teams played the Gold and Scarlet Courses following two days, with the top 16 playing the Gold Course in Sunday’s championship.

John Grimes (76-68-74) and Scott Novicki (76-66-76) both tied for 22nd with cards of 218. Gregory Pappas also broke the top 30 with a 220 (72-70-78). Nick Peoples recorded the final official score at 229 (75-71-83), while Brian Critzer finished at 232 (83-69-80).

Oglethorpe took home the team title with a three-day total of 843 (285-263-295). Mike Wesko (74-65-71) of Methodist edged out Eric Quinn (76-65-69) of Oglethorpe in a three-hole playoff.

The Pride will compete in their final regular season tournament on April 1-2 at the Emory Spring Invitational.
