Guilford Golf Finishes Seventh at the Davidson College Invitational

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Guilford College’s Noah Ratner finished second at the Davidson College Invitational Mar. 4-5 at the River Run Country Club. The finish propelled the Quakers into the seventh-best spot. Guilford was the lone Division III competitor in the 11-team field.

The Quakers shot 614 over the two days on the par-72 36-hole course. Ratner carded a pair of 73s (146), falling to the Davidson’s Sam Echikson by one stroke. Guilford’s Andrew Thompson and Dallas Page finished 34th and 38th, respectively. Thompson finished with a two-round score of 157, one better than Page. Nicholas Shedd shot 160 and Travis Tolbert carded a 164, rounding out the Quakers’ five scores.

Guilford finished 18 strokes behind the Wildcats, who had four top-10 finishers. Marshall University and Radford University rounded out the top three spots.

The Quakers return to action March 22-24 at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate at the Paradise Point Golf Course.
