- Esposito Named Big South Coach of the Year; Taylor, Gonzalez Earn All-Conference
  High Point University head volleyball coach Chad Esposito was named the 2008 Big South Coach of the Year while senior Kristina Taylor was named to the First Team All-Conference. Junior Audie Gonzalez earned a spot on the second team. The honors were announced on Thursday, Nov. 20 during the awards banquet held at the Doubletree Biltmore in Asheville, N.C.
- Baseball Inks Largest Recruiting Class Ever
  Head coach Craig Cozart has announced the signing of the largest recruiting class in High Point baseball history, inking 15 student-athletes during the NCAA early signing period to join the High Point baseball program next fall.   Jurica Hargraves led a group of six players who scored in double figures as the High Point University women's basketball team defeated Emory & Henry, 125-45, on Sunday afternoon at the Millis Athletic Center. The Panthers set a new school Division I scoring record as well as a record for number of points scored in the Millis Center.

The North Carolina Tar Heels were eliminated from the College World Series on Sunday night after a 6-1 loss to Fresno State in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Tar Heels fell one game short from making a third straight appearance in the championship series. UNC finished second in 2006 and 2007 at the CWS, falling both times to Oregon State.

Fresno State will now meet Georgia for the National Championship.

could not find it on TV(that sucks) but listened to some on radio and sounds like they were terrible last night. poor pitching, poor hitting, etc. They had a nice run. Its now Daws vs Dogs. I’m going with the Dawgs.

It was on ESPN Classic - because the game was not anticipated, it was not on any television schedule. It was mentioned Saturday after the Tar Heels won, that the final game would be on ESPN Classic. (ESPN has a Major League Baseball game on Sunday nights.)
