Another college has gone over to the dark side of Sports Marketing, as Appalachian State University signed away their soul to Winston-Salem based ISP. It’s reported here by the Triad Business Journal.
There’s nothing really wrong about this except that while it generates thousands of dollars for the University, the athletes that generate the interest receive NOTHING. The fans face potential additional charges for access to their favorite school’s activities.
Some say it’s progress. Some say it’s a sign of ASU’s growing sports program. Whatever you say, it’s really about the money.
