This is the box for Tuesday March 16, 2010. We are taking those gripes and complaints and we have to remind you to keep it real on your subject matter.

We will be cleaning out the box at the end of each day and we may have to do some cleaning throughout the day if the material gets too thick.

Local gripes or complaints, National gripes or complaints. Is there anything that is rubbing you the wrong way? How about that coaching change or the kid that just left one high school/college and is transferring to another? What about the kid that got left off the All-Conference team or the All-State team?

Is there a school board member that really has you upset???

Let us know, and by the way, do you have anything new for us today?????

NCAA Basketball Tournament Play-in game with #65 trying to get into the final field of 64 this evening…

Winthrop Eagles(19-13) vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff(16-15) 7:30 tonight on ESPN from Dayton, Ohio

Former UNCG Spartans coach Randy Peele will lead Winthrop into action and Peele was here and when he was here his wife Deborah was the GM in charge of marketing for the old Greensboro City Gaters GBA basketball team and she also worked at the News and Record and for the old B100 FM radio station with Max and Pam in the mornings…

Here the most recent profile on Coach Peele and he was a guest last week on PrimeTime with the Packman and he was also on board with Todd Wright on Sporting News Radio and I heard him on both shows….

On Coach P at UNCG:
Prior to arriving at Winthrop, Peele, 50, served as head coach at UNC Greensboro from 1995 until 1999. He led that program to the 1996 Big South Conference championship and the school’s first trip to the NCAA tournament during his first year as head coach. While an assistant at UNCG, the Spartans won two Big South titles and a conference tournament championship. In eight years as a Division I head coach, the Norfolk, Virginia native proved himself to be a top-notch recruiter. Five of his recruits have gone on to earn conference rookie of the year honors.

You can see Coach Peele and learn more about him when you Click Here.

On Coach Peele from today’s Charlotte Observer:

Winthrop coach Randy Peele has every right to bask in the glory that comes with a Big South tournament championship.

He deserves a lot of credit for leading a team that began conference play with one win in four games and was 5-9 overall before turning the season around.

Peele took a lot of criticism early on for his team’s style of play, poor record and inability to shoot. The negative comments came in the form of face-to-face confrontations, e-mails, message board posts and letters to the editor.

To read on and find out how things turned out Click Here.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Visiting Franklin & Marshall College swept a
nonconference baseball doubleheader from Guilford College Monday afternoon
at McBane Field. The Diplomats (3-2) scored a 13-1 win in the opener and a
3-2 triumph in the nightcap.

Franklin & Marshall took advantage of early wildness by Guilford starter
Alex Pecevich (0-1) to take a 4-1 lead. The Diplomats sent 14 batters to the
plate in a nine-run sixth inning that featured three walks and a hit batsmen
by Quakers’ pitcher. Jason Anderson delivered a two-run double in the
inning. Matt Will went 2-3 with a double and three RBI. Mike Duranti (1-0)
earned the win with a six-inning, complete-game effort.

A walk and two errors helped the visitors score three times in the third
inning of game two and it was all pitcher Josh Gray would need to improve to
2-0. The sophomore fanned five and yielded only two hits in six innings
before giving way to Brendan McCreary, who earned his first save of the
season.

Guilford’s Zach Daw gave up six hits and two earned runs over seven innings
for his first college compete game. Mike Gatton and Alex Starbuck had RBI
doubles for the Quakers (10-8).

*****Tonight at 7pm at Ragsdale it will be the Ragsdale Tigers(4-0/2-0) versus the Southwest Guilford Cowboys(4-0/2-0)….This should be the game for bragging rights for the first half of the high school baseball season and we encourage all die-hard HS baseball fans to attend this game in Jamestown this evening….*****

from Monday night with Ragsdale vs. East Forsyth courtesy of Mike Ellis from the Jamestown News….

Ragsdale came from behind in the fifth as Desean Anderson delivered a two run single
on a line shot into left field scoring runners from second and third. Ben Fultz had
gotten the Tigers on the board first in the second inning as he homered in his
fourth consecutive game with a line drive to right field that cleared the 320′ sign.

East Forsyth got their first run in the third on a leadoff double from Luke Dunlap
followed by an RBI single by Evan Orenstein. Those would be the only two hits the
Tigers pitching would allow on the night. Orenstein would eventually score the
second run for the Eagles as he came home on an error.

Zach Hodges got the start for the Tigers and pitched four innings giving up the two
runs, only one of which was earned, striking out six and allowing the two hits.
Tyler Southcott relieved Hodges to start the fifth and pitched three innings of
perfect relief to pick up the win, his first of the year. Southcott faced the
minimum of nine batters and recorded two strikeouts.

Ben Fultz was 2 for 2 on the night with a HR and a single. Desean Anderson was 2
for 3 with 2 singles and the game winning RBI’s.

Pete Schultz pitched for the Eagles and went 5 2/3, giving up 6 hits and the three
