Box Score | Play-by-Play

Elon (17-16) was able to muster only two hits, one each from Ryne Ogren and Ty Adcock.

On the mound, starter Mason Daniels (0-1) took the loss after allowing one run on two hits in 2.0 innings. He struck out one.

For the Pirates (25-7), Bryan Pickard homered and scored twice during a 3-for-5 performance.

How It Happened: East Carolina jumped out to a 1-0 lead after just one pitch as Packard homered to center on the opening pitch of the night.

It remained a 1-0 contest until the seventh when the Pirate put together a two-out rally. After the first two hitters of the inning were retired, Packard got things going with a double down the right field line. Following a walk, back-to-back singles from Spencer Brickhouse and Jake Washer plated runs to extend the lead to 3-0.

Notes: Elon had not been shutout at Latham Park over its previous 44 games at the venue… Elon’s 16 strikeouts were a season high.

On Deck: The Phoenix continues its 10-game homestand with a three-game CAA series against Hofstra. The set is slated to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 13.
