Region 2 Takes Home Gold in Powerade State Games High School Baseball!
Region 5 and Region 8 Also Receive Medals

Region 2 beat the host team, Region 5 on Sunday afternoon at UNC Greensboro in the Gold Medal Game. Region 2 won 9-3 to claim the Gold Medal. Region 5 takes home the Silver and Region 8 beat Region 1 for the Bronze Medal by a score of 4-2.

Region 8 includes high schools from the following counties: Cherokee, Graham, Clay, Macon, Swain, Jackson, Transylvania, Haywood, Madison, Buncombe, Henderson, Yancey, Mitchell, McDowell, Rutherford, Polk.

The Powerade State Games are one of the oldest, largest and most successful State Games programs in the United States. There are currently 30+ State Games programs in the United States. The State Games are open to all ages and all skill levels. The average age of the Powerade State Games participants is 16 years old. The State Games are funded by corporate sponsorships, contributions and event revenues.
