Record-breaking season comes to an end for the GTCC Titans

The 2017 Guilford Tech Titans baseball team ended their historic season this past Monday when they fell just short of an NJCAA World Series berth with a loss in the Southeast District Championship game in Morehead City, NC.

This ended the most successful season to date for the Titans as they set a school record for wins with 30. There were also 17 individual season and career total records either tied or broken this season as well as 9 team records that were broken.

The Titans remarkable run comes despite facing nearly insurmountable program limitations and shortcomings in comparison to all the other community college programs in North Carolina, with the biggest being no dedicated field/facility to call their own- the only program in the entire region that faces such a challenge every year.

Kudos to the Titan players for overcoming these odds and putting together a great season!

  1. Great run in a very competitive conference.Impressive stats from this local players as well! Congrats to Coach Barrow.

  2. I watched the Titans play a few games, and they really swing it. Those offensive stats are really impressive and Lipke’s are just unbelievable!

  3. Please explain how HPU/Elon never recruit locally??? Both these schools struggle offensively.UNCG with local kids hitting 50 points higher than both.
