Elon Women Track and Field Concludes Action at Wake Forest Open

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Louise Prevoteau had a leap of 18’9.75” in the women’s long jump to claim the title as the Elon track and field team completed today, March 16, on the final day of the Wake Forest Open.

Prevoteau reached the mark on her fifth attempt of the afternoon as the Bordeaux, France native earned medalist honors for the Phoenix. Her mark is the second-best on the program’s all-time performance list.

Allyson Oram finished sixth overall in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:16.27. Ellie Taff also garnered a top-10 finish in the 800-meter run after crossing the line with a time of 2:16.90.

Suzanne Martin finished fifth in the javelin throw with a toss of 138’0” (42.06m), the second-best mark in her career. In the women’s “B” pole vault, Claire Smith was third with a mark of 10’0” (3.05m).

Sydney Griffin ran the third-fastest mark in school history in the 200-meter dash. The Marietta, Ga., native clocked a time of 24.86 in the race, finishing 11th overall.

Following a long break, Phoenix will compete next on March 29-30, at the Raleigh Relays at NC State.
