  1. Good game in jamestown. Ragsdale up 5-4 over NWG bottom of 5th. Haack SUM4out and Swim in for NWG.

  2. McMichael..5
    Northern..3

The Phoenix hold the Nighthawks to no runs till the bottom of the 6th as a Northern player hits a 3 run shot over the centerfield fence with a with what sounded like a questionable bat. And yes the umps did check for the bbcor marking after the hit but sure did sound a little pingy. A good game by both sides as the Phoenix were able to produce several base hits in the first 3 innings. Congrats to McMichael as they move to 4-0.

  3. Ragsdale 5 NW Guilford 4

    NW Guilford 4

Big win for Ragsdale tonight against NWG. Keaton Haack and Swim pitched well tonight but Ragsdale put the ball in play and the NWG defense kept giving the Tigers extra outs. Kyle Morrison went 2 against Haack including taking the first pitch of the second inning over the 375 sign in centerfield.

Tim Ambrose got thew in tonight going 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief of starter Matt Horkey who started strong and was scoreless after 2 2/3 but he couldn’t get out of the third giving up four runs. Ragsdale rallied back to tie it at 4 after 4. Niko Orfanedes had the game winning hit once again – not as dramatic or solid as the other night against East Forsyth but just as big. Mitch Carstens pitched final two innings of relief.

Ragsdale keeps pace with SW Guilford and is now 5-0, 3-0 in conference. Really love watching this young team play,

  5. Ragsdale 5
    NWG 4
Exciting game tonight. Haack pitched much better than the score. NWG forgot to bring their gloves. Horkey started for Ragsdale and got roughed up giving up 4. Ambrose went the rest of the 3rd, 4th and 5th and shut it down. Swim pitched the last 3 and allowed no runs. Kyle Morrison went yard again against Haack and was 2-3. Horkey had a nice hit for a run and the rest were errors. NWG ran themselves out of some runs with 3 outs on the bases. Ragsdale fielded it very well and Carstens closed the last 2 innings. Pretty good pitching management by the Ragsdale coaches. Tough loss for a good NWG team while Ragsdale finds a way to win.

  6. The bat was a BBCOR in that Northern game Pheonix. The only questionable thing in THAT game was the ump.

Southwest Guilford won at Glenn for the 1st time in 13 years tonight by jumping out to an early lead and holding on till the finish. Glenn fought back hard and had the tieing run on 3rd when the game ended. Matt Dale pitched 6 innings allowing 2 runs but was pulled in the bottom of the 7th after walking the first batter, Sean Geoghegan came in in relief and allowed a hit which scored Dale’s runner. He then got the last 3 outs, the last one a strikeout to end the game. Leading hitters for the Cowboys were Kyle Miller, Austin Zente, Sean Geoghegan and Will Mespelt.

It was a typical tight game against 2 very good rivals but…The curse has been lifted!

  8. Southeast Guilford squeezed by Dudley 2-0, It was a great game, a pitching duel until a fly ball to left field with 2 men on. Other than that the game should had gone into extra innings. A great pitching duel!!! Standing room only, more college scouts than players/coaches on the field! Good luck to all players who were “interviewed” by college coaches!!!

  9. Don’t sell Coltrane short…..He has some Durham blood in him and our old uncle Guy Durham played in the Cleveland Indians minor league organization/system back in the day….Used to knock ’em out of War Memorial Stadium and many other minor league parks during the day games, but couldn’t see worth a lick to play at night…..With that Durham blood in him, I have a gut feeling that Coltrane could go a long way in baseball and football….WIth the lineage of our Uncle Guy from the Indians and the other guy that played football back in the day and I mean the one from the West side of town, this kid is one to keep an eye on….Got my attention back during football season and I’m looking forward to seeing what else this baseball season can bring forth as well…..Keep it coming fellows and does anyone remember Randy Wilhoit, the old catcher for the Odd Fellows team back in the 60’s and 70’s…Those Odd Fellows had the best looking uniforms around with that Black and Orange…..
