Starting to see some local college baseball names show up

Starting to see some of the college baseball news and scores and so far, a few of our local players are starting to score/contribute, as we have seen Alex Swim(Elon/Northwest Guilford HS), Esterlin Paulino(N.C. A&T/Southwest Guilford HS), Ethan Ogburn(N.C. State/Southwest Guilford HS), Macon Smith(Guilford College/Western Guilford) all showing up here early in the season…..
In talking to a Northern Guilford HS baseball fan last night, they have at least two big gams coming up next week, with NG vs. Southeast Guilford and Dallas Newton and NG vs. Northwest Guilford and Keaton Haack…..Good start to the high school season beginning next Monday, with High Point Central vs. High Point Andrews, among others……
Can’t forget about Ruben Torrellas from Dudley. Got the start last night against Swim and the Phoenix. Anyone know whether Ray Crawford is playing this year at UNCG? Haven’t seen him in the statline
I was thinking about Ruben the other day and remember when he and Dudley beat Patton to win the Grimsley Easter Tournament back in 2008, it think it was….At one time it seems like Ruben was back and forth between A&T and GTCC….Ray was off of UNCG for first semester and was hoping to be back on for the Spring….We will try and get more….He was on an earlier UNCG roster that I checked along with Nin(Beningo) Marrero from Western Guilford…..
Do others remember that Grimsley Easter Tournament that year? In 2008 was it and they had Dudley, Patton, Reidsville, Thomasville, High Point Andrews, Burlington Williams and home team/host Grimsley in the tournament and Dudley won it all….A ball got stuck in the fence on a play where a runner was headed home for Dudley and as soon as the fielder pulled that ball out of the fence it was a LIVE ball and then the runners could advance and was a very wild ending…..Dudley was the Champion and RL Patton came in second……
