  1. Eagle Dad says:

Caldwell boys over Westchester 58 – 57. Another thriller between these 2.

Michael Kobani hit 2 free throws for Caldwell with 5 seconds left and Shadeeq Bello’s runner in the lane just missed as time expired. Bello (whose older brother made a surprise appearance) was pretty much unstopable most of the night. He had what at that time was the play of the game, making a steal, basket, got fouled and hit a free throw with about 20 seconds left to put WCD up 3. Wasn’t keeping stats, but would guess he had close to 20. Thought Justice Culbertson played very well for the Wildcats, too. I believe they are freshman and sophomores and are good young players. WCD was hurt by the fact that their only big man, #24 (Beka???) got into foul trouble and had 3 fouls early in the 2nd half.

WCD went up early and led 33 – 24 at half time. Eagles came out strong, hit some outside shots to start the 2nd half, and I believe from 35-35 no one led by more than 5 the rest of the way. Last 3 minutes was see-saw, back and forth. Westchester made a lot of free throws on the night, but missed a few more than they would have liked in the last 60 seconds.

Good, hard fought game. Eagles likely to play #1 Davidson Day Thursday at 11:30am in state quarterfinals. Congrats to both teams for a very hard fought game.

Do anyone have the scores for girls HPC and GDS? They both played out town teams.

  3. score says:
