River Mill – 69
Norfolk Christian – 58
River Mill overcame a sluggish start to defeat Norfolk Christian 69-58, in the semi-finals of the Division 1 Bracket.
The Crusaders’ quickness in transition and their 3 point shooting accuracy enabled them to build an 18-4 lead, midway the first quarter. River Mill refused to fold however, as they battled back to knot the score 29-29 at the half.
The Lady Jaguars continued to build momentum in the second half, to secure the hard-fought victory.
McKenzie Owen scored 24 points for River Mill, while Danielle Webster scored a game-high 28 for Norfolk.
River Mill advances to the Division 1 Championship game against Seton Keough of Baltimore, Maryland.
Lake Taylor (VA) defeated Oak Hill to advance to the Division 1 Elite Bracket Championship. They will face state rival Princess Anne who defeated Riverdale Baptist (MD).
Oxon Hill (MD) will face Maury (VA) in the Division 2 Championship contest.
