Quakers shake the Hampden-Sydney Tigers at the Ragan-Brown Field House: Guilford College wins another one, 76-74
The #1 team in the Nation in D3 hoops, grabbed another key win tonight at home, in the Ragan-Brown Field House, as the Guilford College Quakers nipped the Hampden-Sydney Tigers, 76-74…..
Excellent free shooting by the Quaker men down the stretch, as HSC battled back to make it a 70-70 ball game, with just 1:45 to play.
Guilford would not give in, as they hit a key three-pointer to go up and then nailed the two key free throws to help close it out, along with a crucial blocked shot on a last second Tiger attempt that ended it all, as HSC could not upset your #1 Quakers tonight…..
HSC had their chances and they had their fans, as about 100 Tiger students came walking into the Field House just minutes into the first half, after making the trip to Greensboro on two big chartered buses.
Guilford had their fans their too with Chris Jones, Bryan Jones, Petey Rose, Brian Hall from NEWS 2, Harold Moag and many others out tonight to cheer on the Quakers as they make that D3 National Championship run.
Most of the spectators that I spoke with, said that tonight’s crowd, was the biggest turnout that they had seen all season long, in the Ragan-Brown FH….
Good job Quakers and a nice victory, in that 76-74 final, over Hampden-Sydney…..
