The list is loaded with Raleigh area football players……

RB Jalen “Scoot” Simmons of West Charlotte High had previously been invited to the U.S. Army National Underclassmen’s Combine Jan. 7-9; now eight more North Carolina athletes have been selected as well.

Also picked—in alphabetical order—are Juston Burris of Raleigh Broughton; Justus Hoffman of Raleigh Millbrook; Ryan Magnum of Raleigh Leesville Road; Montese Overton of Winterville South Central; Jordan Pineda of Watauga; Jeremy Reynolds of Greensboro Dudley; John Scott of Knightdale and Jarrod Spears of Angier Harnett Central.

The combine is part of a week of events tied to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Jan.9 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Are these young men official? If so congratulations, but someone needs to let Stan Olson at the Charlotte Observer know these names so he can get them on his official invite list….

Stan was shocked at the number of Raleigh players that had been invited……
