Wilborn(with the will to win) and Richburg(striking it rich) give GC women win in Virginia

Bristol, Va. — Nikki Wilborn (Graham NC/Graham) scored 29 points and freshman Bianca Richburg (Hillsborough/Orange High School) had 29 and 12 rebounds as Greensboro College won at Virginia Intermont, 80-72, on Friday afternoon. The Pride improved to 2-6.

Both Richburg and Wilborn shot 11-20 from the field. Wilborn made 5-9 three-pointers and dished five assists. Richburg had six offensive boards and two blocked shots.

GC led in rebounding 44-37. The Pride shot 45 percent (29-64) to 41 (28-68) percent for VIC. Both clubs committed 13 turnovers.

Virginia Intermont (2-11) was led by Priscilla Moseh who had a team-high 27 points. Teammate Ca’Star Harper came off the bench to add 10 points and 12 boards for the Cobras.

Freshman Meredith Kelly (Snow Camp, NC/Southern Alamance High) added 10 points for The Pride.

GC is off for the holidays until the new year. In its next action. The Pride hosts Mary Baldwin on Jan. 2 at 2 p.m.
