We got the word by phone out of Tennessee late yesterday that former Ragsdale hoops star Wally Jones is making his mark as a freshman at Lincoln Memorial University up in Harrogate, Tennessee. Wally wears #23 and his LMU Railsplitters just beat the Carson-Newman Eagles, 70-67, to get off to (1-0) start in South Atlantic Conference play…
Wally was one of the team leaders for the Ragsdale Tigers last season and he is off to a great start this year in college….
Check out these numbers and especially note the three-point shooting in one of his most recent outings..Seven(7) three-pointers in one game, that is almost insane and we are talkikng about a freshman here. Just wait till WJ gets adjusted to the college life and the college game….He is already averaging 9.9 points per game…….

Wally Jones, Lincoln Memorial University. Wally is averaging 9.9 points per game, 15 minutes, 52 % from three point range (13/25), .595 % field goal percentage, and had 27 points and 7 three pointers in one game this year for the a 6-1 team.

That is really awesome to hear. Wally is just a super person. Great student and great athlete. I talked to his dad at football game several weeks back and he said Wally wasn’t getting much time but then he had that big game and it looks like it has turned into more time on the court.
