Smith Girls beat Andrews

Smith Lady Eagles 64 – HP Andrews 32
The Lady Eagles Varsity Basketball team opened their season this past Saturday November 21, 2009 in the Marvin Webster Classic at Smith High School.
The game started off with the Lady Eagles applying pressure and forcing turnovers leading to a 19-2 first quarter lead. The Red Raiders went on a run of their own and cut the lead to ten in the second quarter, but the third quarter was all Smith’s and the Lady Eagles built a 20+ point lead that they never relinquished. It was a great game between two local schools. Both teams should fare well in their respective conferences.
Smith was paced by LaKendra Wilkerson’s 21pts, additional scorers were Zhaquondalee Greer 10, Katrina Gibson 8, Ashlye Dubose 8, Destiney Carter 7, Alexus Neal-Phillips 6, and Brianna Lynn 4.
