Posted By on July 30, 2009

Last night at War Memorial Stadium:

Greensboro Green 7
Youngstown, Ohio 2

West Islip Lions, New York 5
Rockingham County 4

Several people were honored before the game with special recognition for Don, Madge, Donnie and Trey Stowe and Shaq Jacobs threw out the first pitch with Alan Ashkinazy as honorary catcher and Ralph Hodgin as the pre-game, first-pitch umpire.

Ned McMillian presented the Bill White scholarships and we will have more on the game later today.

I thought Ash was a coach? what happened?

  2. Andy says:

Alan was a dignatary last night and if you see him ask him about that first pitch. I think the mitt was a loaner.

  3. TONY says:

Al’s famous coaching line – if it touches your glove you gotta catchit! – Al you gotta catch it ! – In Al’s defense Shaq threw gas – hardest ceremonial pitch I have ever seen.
