Hoppers win with powerball over West Virginia

Posted By on April 29, 2009

Hopper homers today for Jeremy Synan(Brown Summit) and Kevin Mattison(Kernersville) as the Greensboro Grasshoppers topped the West Virginia Power 7-2 at NewBridge Bank Park. Synan connected on a three-run shot over the scoreboard in right field for his second long-ball of the season and Mattison launched a two-run missle to right for his third powerball of the year.

The two locals led the way and the Hoppers also got two doubles from Ben Lasater which helped run his RBI total to 17 in 2009 and with the Hoppers only out-hitting the Power 8-6, but out-scoring them 7-2, the extra base hits proved to be the difference today.

The Grasshoppers improve to (11-9) with the win and the West Virginia Power are now (6-14) as they take the Power plunge with the loss.
