Western over Western(WG over WA) and HS Hoops tonight

The Western Guilford boys defeated Western Alamance 52-50 last night with Dalmonta Alston(brother of Tavarus Alston now at N.C. A&T) hitting the game-winning shot for the Hornets. Coach Jenkins had to leave early with the paper, but I’m assuming another big game for WG’s Reggie Perkins, Jordan Williams and RJ McLaughlin.
Western Alamance girls stopped WG 48-44 to salvage a split in the doubleheader…….
*****First time in a while I’ve seen this…..MaxPreps.com had Wayne Stevens coaching both the boys(7-6) and girls(3-2) teams at Western Alamance.

Coach: Wayne Stevens (Wayne Stevens is the former girls head coach at Northeast Guilford and he was there until Brandon Apple over the NEG girls this year. Not a big deal, but interesting none the less.*****

Dudley at Northeast Guilford(Girls game might get tight for a while early, Dudley boys looking at 100-plus.)
McMichael vs. Eastern Guilford at UNCG(EG girls trying to go {2-0} in North State Conference.)
Northwest Guilford at High Point Central(Huge girls game in Metro 4-A, could be for the early-season conference supremacy. Boys game will be near-even and NWG needs to remember, the city of High Point is a tough place to play.)
Northern at Rockingham County(Girls game may turn into something, boys game should not be close at all.)
Southern Guilford at West Stokes(SG girls must win to go {2-0} and to keep pace with Eastern.)
East Forsyth at Grimsley(Danny O’Brien show for EF and Keith Manley/Kreshawn Williams/Carter Gourley/Aaron Wise/Logan Dunn have to push their Whirlies at home. Girls game, no clue…..) Is this game really at home or is Grimsley on the road tonight and back home on Friday vs. Page?????
Greensboro Day School at Charlotte Christian(We know what the GDS boys have, not sure if Charlotte Christian can keep up. Christian Pulliam versus Charlotte Christian, good matchup….)
Southwestern Randolph at Ragsdale(Rough night for SWR.)
High Point Andrews at WS Reagan(Coach James Abell needs to turn his Red Raiders lose on the Reagan Raiders.)
Southwest Guilford at WS Parkland(Guy Shavers coach of the Cowboys. If he were playing, I would take SWG as a lock.)
High Point Wesleyan at Cary Academy(Robbins and Johnson, James and John, for HPW.)
High Point Christian at Calvary Baptist(The Jermaine Martinez watch is on for HPC and CB is a worthy opponent.)
I am familiar with Coach Stevens and it is my understanding he only coaches the varsity boys. Instead coaching his daugter JT, he now coaches his son. And for the life of me can’t remember his first name. Good to see him back locally. He initially left to coach at the college level. Wonder what they will do with Dudley tomorrow. Hope to see a recap!
The Southwestern Randolph @ Ragsdale game scheduled for tonight has been postponed until February 2nd. Randolph County has exams this week so they asked for the game to be moved.
